| Keesler Air Force Base’s Weather Training Flight Deploys eBook Technologies Platform to Students and Instructors | |||||
| Centrally controlled, compact reading devices make distributing and updating training materials fast and easy, reducing administrative costs | |||||

LA JOLLA, CA - June 15, 2009 - eBook Technologies Inc. (ETI), the leading provider of end-to-end electronic book platforms, announced that the Weather Training Flight, a division of the 81st Training Wing, the Air Force’s largest Technical Training Group, has deployed ETI’s eBooks in three of its training courses. The eBooks provide an easily accessible, compact electronic format for students to carry all training materials and PowerPoint slides, replacing most of the heavy, costly printed materials previously required and reducing administration costs related to materials distribution. Materials for the following courses are delivered on the eBooks: The Weather Officer course (WOC), the Weather Flight Detachment Operations course (WFDO), and the Open Principle User Processor course (OPUP). ETI’s eBooks enable Weather Training Flight staff to distribute and update materials quickly and cost-effectively. Administrators can update training materials by simply revising the information and directing it to the proper eBook devices using centralized servers. Students receive a large amount of data in a compact, lightweight package and can use efficient text markup tools to make studying more productive. ETI’s platform offers many advantages over paper distribution. Low-cost, hand-held devices that are lightweight and easy to use, eBooks hold massive amounts of data in a compact electronic format. eBook Express Manager, a server application, replaces the old method of manual printing, collating and distributing of three-ring binders, reducing administration costs and simplifying materials distribution. It enables the rapid delivery, access, audit and updating of content by groups of eBooks created for each course. ETI’s Network Services enable centralized registration, authentication and content database services, including an Online Bookshelf from which students can download content. Finally, eBook Publisher enables automatic or manual content preparation for eBook use. ”ETI’s pioneering technology is ideal for training programs like the Weather Training Flight, which must produce large volumes of training materials on a regular basis,“ said Garth Conboy, President of ETI. ”Our centralized system for managing and updating content makes frequent changes fast and easy, helping our customers avoid exorbitant printing costs and save time and money on distribution.“ |
