| MyDistrict.Net Designs Solution to Help Independent Carriers Deliver The Dallas Morning News and Other Publications Using eBooks from eBook Technologies | |||||
| Electronic route lists enable faster, more accurate throws, and save contract carriers time and printing costs | |||||

LA JOLLA, CA - November 10, 2008 - eBook Technologies Inc. (ETI), the leading provider of end-to-end electronic book platforms, has provided the platform for MyDistrict.Net’s electronic route list solution, which helps independent carriers contracting with publications like The Dallas Morning News to save time and money and increase delivery accuracy. Using electronic reading devices from eBook Technologies, carriers receive daily route lists that are automatically updated using MyDistrict.Net’s technology. The electronic platform eliminates the need for independent carrier contractors to manually update and print route cards, while helping to improve customer satisfaction with more timely, accurate product delivery. “Prior to deploying ETI’s eBooks, everything was manual,” said Goddey Ejuwa, assistant director of distribution at The Dallas Morning News. “Our independent contractors and their sub-contractor carriers had to create up to six different lists to update that day’s delivery route list by hand, and update information about specific delivery requests for individual throws. This took at least 15-20 minutes per throw list. With MyDistrict.Net’s technology and the eBooks, this daily chore is completely automated. Carriers can deliver more products, because they’re saving time, which provides our company with additional revenue.” MyDistrict.Net captures and manages all delivery field data from a publication’s circulation database, including routes, start and stop orders, and subscriber delivery complaints, then applies sequencing to the data. Carrier contractors simply plug their eBooks into any Internet-connected computer, and the eBook automatically downloads the specific carrier’s routes, showing only those addresses requiring delivery that day. ETI’s eBooks can be mounted in a carrier’s car and are backlit for early-morning viewing. The devices are rugged and easy-to-use, and provide clear delivery and driving instructions. Carriers see the name of the product to be delivered, the address and any customer requirements attributed to that delivery. They can also find the most efficient route information and driving directions. Each device is addressable, so if one carrier calls in sick, the information for his route is delivered to another carrier’s device in minutes, over the Internet. “The combination of MyDistrict.Net’s technology and our eBook platform simplifies important distribution tasks for independent carrier contractors,” said Garth Conboy, President of ETI. “The platform enables our newspaper clients to offer a broader range of advertising and products to customers, while eliminating the costs associated with printing route lists. As the market leader in electronic book platforms, ETI is seeing many publications adopt the platform to streamline and improve newspaper distribution, recruit and retain carriers and improve customer satisfaction. We expect more and more publications to adopt the platform moving forward.” |
